Biography
Jacob Biondo is a senior meteorology major at Millersville University. Jacob has had a passion for severe weather since 2013 when he learned about the El Reno, OK tornado and started watching The Weather Channel. Watching meteorologists like Dr. Greg Forbes dissect the atmosphere and the severe weather grabbed Jacob’s attention and kicked off his love for meteorology. After learning about the TWISTEX Team and the legacy of Tim Samaras, Paul Samaras, and Carl Young, Jacob was inspired to pursue severe weather research as a career. When TILTTING (now TILTTING-BL) opened for applications in Spring 2023, seeing the passion the team had for advancing the science of severe weather research, Jacob applied and was accepted. He is excited to work with the team to continue to advance the research. After graduating from undergraduate university, he plans to attend graduate school for tornado and/or lightning research. Outside of meteorology, Jacob is passionate about martial arts. He is a first-degree black belt in Taekwondo. In his free time, he watches film, reads books, and takes notes on various martial arts styles and applies what he learns to his training. He is also very passionate about his faith and is a member of Millersville University’s Reformed University Fellowship club.
